OSU Writing Project Mission Statement:

The Oklahoma State University Writing Project is committed to improving the teaching and learning of multiple literacies in Oklahoma's classrooms. As pre-k through university educators, we offer our colleagues a long-term professional development community. Our goal is to nurture reflective practitioners and teacher leaders grounded in inquiry and research-based practice. Effective teachers are the best instruments of social equity and positive educational change.

The Oklahoma State University Writing Project is a member site of the National Writing Project. The Oklahoma State University Writing Project dedicates itself to improving the teaching and learning of writing in Okahoma's classrooms. Each year, the OSUWP invites exemplary teachers, pre-kindergarten through university, to participate in an exciting and intensive five-week Summer Institute on the campuses of Oklahoma State University. After the Institute, these master teachers join with other OSUWP/NWP Teacher Consultants in a continuing effort to improve literacy education in Oklahoma schools by sponsoring teacher research and ongoing programs of professional improvement. To learn more about the OSUWP or to arrange for OSUWP teacher consultants to energize your school with effective and inspiring demonstrations, workshops, and presentations, contact the OSUWP office.
