MA Advisement
An advisor is temporarily assigned to each new graduate student. With the approval of the Graduate Director, the student must choose a permanent advisor before the end of the first semester of coursework. The advisor may be any member of the English Department graduate faculty who specializes in Technical Writing.
Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee normally consists of the student's major advisor as committee chair and at least two members of the English Department's graduate faculty.
Changes to Committee. To change advisors or advisory committee members, a student must request the change in writing to the English Graduate Director and provide serious reasons for the change. The Graduate Director will forward the request to the Graduate College for final approval. Unless the student requests a change or chooses to do a creative component, the Advisory Committee serves as the Thesis Committee.
