Founded in Fall of 2002, CRAS is the official student organization of the Oklahoma State University Screen Studies Program.  CRAS meets monthly during Spring and Fall semesters and is dedicated to unearthing obscure and hard-to-find narrative films, while providing a forum for informal discussion and cooperative research within OSU's Screen Studies community. CRAS is a harbor for serious cinephiles: pursuers of the obscure, the outré, the eaubscène. At CRAS meetings you are just as likely to hear an impassioned discussion about medium specificity as you are to join in a debate about the relative merits of 1930s Wheeler and Woolsey comedies. You will not see Citizen Kane at CRAS, or À bout de souffle, or Rear Window, because we know you already own the DVDs.

In Spring of 2009, a new CRAS logo was created for the group by Belgian artist Christophe Szpajdel, the legendary underground calligrapher whose intricate, deco-inspired logos have appeared on the t-shirts and album covers of numerous death and black metal bands from around the world.

In addition to participating in CRAS meetings and events, members of CRAS regularly attend exciterbulb, a monthly screening series featuring avant garde and experimental films, also shown on OSU's main campus. CRAS is registered with OSU Campus Life and is funded through SGA.
