Composition and Rhetoric Community

The First-Year Composition Program (FYC) at Oklahoma State University provides a laboratory for testing and evaluating theories about teaching writing; the program also offers all instructors multiple opportunities for professional development.

The Fourth Floor

Most teaching assistants and adjunct instructors in Composition, Technical Writing, and TESOL share offices on the fourth floor of Morrill Hall. They also share ideas about teaching, offer guidance to one another, and provide a close community of professionals engaged in a common cause: assisting students to become better writers, researchers, and analytical readers. Instructors also regularly contribute their most successful assignments and activities to the "Teaching Materials" portion of the extensive FYC instructor's website.
