She has been Director of the International Composition Program since 2003, and guides the TESL TAs in their growth as teachers and as academics researchers, in order to bring about "long-term improvement and cognitive change" for both TAs and their students. Her work led to her recent appointment as 2005-2006 Director of the Writing Center, where she mentors graduate studends across the English Department programs to develop their skills in tutoring, teaching, and research. Finally, Dr. Damron serves on several thesis and dissertation committees where she advises students on their research and writing projects.

His friendly demeanor is matched only by his ability to mentor a broad range of students concerning all aspects of graduate life. Dr. Walker's mentoring skills are particularly evident in his work on thesis and dissertation committees where his energetic yet receptive approach helps students achieve their educational goals.
