Undergraduate Literature Scholarship
The OSU English Department announces the 2008-09 Undergraduate
Literature Scholarship for essays written on some aspect of
British, American, or world literature.
The following rules apply:
- Competition for the scholarship is open to undergraduate
students currently enrolled at OSU.
- Essays can be critical or research papers, and they
should be 7-12 double spaced, typewritten pages.
- Each entry must have a sheet of paper indicating the
name of the essay and the scholarship for which the essay is submitted
clipped to it. It should also indicate the name of the author,
address, phone number, and CWID.
This is the
only place where the name of the author should appear.
- Each undergraduate may submit only one entry. If
entries are submitted for other scholarships, they must be different
entries.
Application materials should be placed in JuDean Scott's mailbox in 205 Morrill Hall. See the main English Department Scholarship page for application deadlines.
Papers will be evaluated on their originality, persuasiveness,
and style. The winning essayist will receive $100. The winner will be announced in January.
