OSU Foundation Creative Writing Scholarship in Poetry

We are pleased to announce the 2008-09 OSU Poetry Award literary competition. Funded by the generous support of the university, the competition awards one prize of $350 each year.

The competition is open to all full- or part-time OSU students, graduate and undergraduate.   Manuscripts submitted in the competition will be judged by a writer of national reputation. The winner will be announced at the beginning of the spring 2009 semester.

Interested students are invited to submit no more than one (1) poem manuscript (no more than 100 lines in length) in the competition.   Manuscript entries must be typed, on only one side of each page or pages of standard unlined typing paper.   Only one (1) copy of the manuscript should be submitted, and entries will not be returned. If a student wishes to submit entries to more than one contest, the entries must be different entries.

Only the title of the poem should appear on the manuscript. If the poem manuscript requires more than one page, the pages should be stapled together.  All submissions should include the scholarship name, the title of entry, applicant's name, address, phone number and CWID typed on a separate sheet of paper.

Poem manuscripts should be submitted to JuDean Scott in 205 Morrill Hall. Deadline for receipt of entries is 5:00pm on Friday, December 5th, 2008.
