Arrington Creative Writing Scholarship in FictionWe are pleased to announce the OSU Short Fiction Awards literary competition. Funded by the generous support of the Arrington Creative Writing Endowment Fund, the competition awards three prizes of $350, $200, and $100 each year. The competition is open to all full- or part-time OSU students, graduate and undergraduate. Manuscripts submitted in the competition will be judged by a writer of national reputation. The winner will be announced at the beginning of the spring 2008 semester. Interested students are invited to submit no more than one (1) short fiction manuscript (no more than 5,000 words in length) in the competition. Manuscript entries must be typed or computer generated, on only one side of each page or pages of standard unlined typing paper. Only one (1) copy of the manuscript should be submitted, and entries will not be returned. If a student wishes to submit entries to more than one contest, the entries must be different entries. Only the title of the short fiction should appear on the manuscript. Manuscript pages should be stapled together. Short fiction manuscripts should be placed in JuDean Scott's mailbox in 205 Morrill Hall. All submissions should include the scholarship name, applicant's name, address, phone number and CWID typed on a separate sheet of paper.
