Jerry Williams reads his poems at City Lights Bookstore (02-17-01)

Jerry Williams, an OSU PhD candidate in creative writing who works with OSU professor and poet, Lisa Lewis, recently flew to San Francisco to read several of his poems at the world-famous City Lights Bookstore, founded by the Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti. The occasion for the reading was the launching of a new journal now being published by City Lights Books, the publisher of William Carlos Williams, Allen Ginsburg, Frank O'Hara, and Diane di Prima, among many other important American poets.
The new journal is Lyric, and the first issue contained three of Jerry Williams's poems. While in San Francisco, Williams also appeared on Diamond Dave Whitaker's program on KPOO radio.
