Graduate Student OrganizationsEnglish Graduate Student AssociationThe English Graduate Student Association (EGSA) is a professional and social organization that empowers graduate students with a voice in departmental affairs and encourages relationships between graduate students and faculty. Creative Writing AssociationAll Creative Writing students are CWA members upon enrollment in the program, and other interested parties may join. Every year CWA receives university funding as a student organization, sponsors several student readings, and often co-sponsors visiting writers. In 2004 CWA brought in visiting poet Bryan Dietrich for a reading and workshop. TESLing AssociationThe TESLing Association, composed of TESL and Linguistics students, promotes active participation within the TESL/Linguistics program by planning get-togethers, which usually involve international cuisine and vibrant discussion. TESLing also occassionally plans colloquia which provide a forum for students and faculty to present their research interests. Finally, our newsletter keeps everyone up-to-date on what is happening in the program. So, please join us! OSU's Student Chapter of the Society for Technical CommunicationSTC is an individual membership organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. It is the largest organization of its type in the world. Its 25,000 members include technical writers, editors, graphic designers, videographers, multimedia artists, Web and Intranet page information designers, translators and others whose work involves making technical information available to those who need it. Screen Studies Society (CRAS)Founded in Fall of 2002, the Claude Rains Appreciation Society is the Screen Studies Program's official student organization, conducting its biweekly discussion group during Spring and Fall terms. C.R.A.S. is dedicated to unearthing obscure cinematic treasures, while providing a forum for informal discussion and cooperative research within OSU's screen studies community. Graduate & Professional Student Government Association (GPSGA)GPSGA is the representative organization for all graduate students at OSU. Each department or program offering a graduate degree is entitled to elect one graduate student to represent their department or program for one academic year. All graduate and professional students at OSU are members of the GPSGA and the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students. English Department |
