Tatsuya Fukushima
Assistant Professor of Japanese, University of Arkansas
PhD Oklahoma State University (2000)
TESL/Linguistics
" From a research perspective, the flexible curriculum in the English graduate program at OSU allowed me to explore different fields of linguistics and TESL. Most notably, courses in discourse analysis and TESL provided important guidelines for my current research in political linguistics, discourse analysis, and technology-based language instruction.
At the same time, the solid experience I gained in my teaching assistantship helped enormously as well. Particularly, with the advent of the Internet during my PhD program, I was able to explore that technology's uses for meaningful pedagogical results. " ~Tatsuya Fukushima, Spring 2006
